Visual Arts

I really enjoy working in the visual arts! I love to draw, and my camera is always by my side. I also paint and have worked with 3-D art in the past. With my blog, I have made many illustrations by colorizing pencil drawings on the computer.

Back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, I took over a dozen classes in the visual arts. Most were drawing or painting, but I did take a couple photography classes and one class sculpting a figure in modeling clay starting with the skeleton, adding muscles one my one, etc. The idea is to learn anatomy from an artist’s point of view – it is easier to draw if you understand what you are seeing. I didn’t do great, but it was a lot of fun! (See bottom of page for finished product.)

I have worked with pencil, pen, chalk, conte crayon, pastels, water color, oils, computer drawing tools (photo shop) and photography.

From here you can explore what I have done in the visual arts.
